Woodland & Meriwether - A Perfect Match!

In 2006, Woodland, Washington celebrated its centennial. So much had changed in the last 100 years and yet so much remained the same. Woodland has a deep history of logging, farming and sports and recreational activities (fishing) and 100 years was certainly something to celebrate! It was also in 2006 that Pacific Lifestyle Homes sold its first home in the Meriwether Community. The brand new subdivision, on the fringe of such a small and quiet town, was the beginning of a period of transformation for Woodland from a small, "commuter" city into a more robust suburb of Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR.

When the final house has been built and sold, Meriwether will consist of approximately 180 homes, the largest of its kind in Woodland. It has a private clubhouse with pool, a fitness center, sports court and a playground. The amenities are nice, but Meriwether is a tight community where neighbors support neighbors and everyone has fun enjoying life together!

The original site work cost roughly $18 million as Meriwether emerged between Scott Hill, Insel Road and State Highway 503, however, as the economy spiraled downward in 2008-2010, Pacific Lifestyle Homes declared bankruptcy and the building stopped. They had completed approximately 50% of the community and, for a long period of time, activity in the neighborhood remained very quiet.

Then, over the next couple of years, the economy began to recover and Karlsen Development, LLC (Karlsen Homes) began to buy up the vacant lots and build new homes again followed by LGI Homes. Today, the neighborhood is growing and full of life!

A note from the residents -

"Meriwether Community is very special to everyone that lives here. We have seen it grow and prosper and have found many friendships here. Our families and children play together and we are proud to call this our home!"
